Directions to St. Virgil Parish

St. Virgil Church is located at the intersection of Rt. 202 (Speedwell Avenue) north of Morristown, south of Morris Plains and Hanover Avenue west of Frelinghuysen Arboretum, Morris County Library and Mennan´s Arena.

From New York:
Take I-80 West to exit 42A (Morris Plains – Route 202 South). Continue South across Route 10 into Morris Plains Center (1.3 miles from Rt. 10). As you come into Morris Plains, you will see the Railroad overpass above you. Go under it and stay to the left (following Rt. 202). Go ½ mile to third traffic light after underpass (Hanover Avenue is the cross street). Turn right into Hanover Avenue and the entrance to the church parking lot is on your left.

From South Jersey on the Garden State Parkway or New Jersey Turnpike:
Take the Parkway or the Turnpike to Interstate 287 North. Stay on I-287 until Exit 36B (Lafayette Avenue in Morristown). Make the right at the traffic light onto Ridgedale Avenue. At the second light, turn left onto Hanover Avenue. Go through the third traffic light (which is Speedwell Avenue) and you will see the entrance to the church parking lot on your left.

From the North:
Take Interstate 287 South to Exit 39B (Route 10 West). Take Route 10 west to Route 202 South. You are in effect making a left turn from Rt. 10 to Rt. 202, but you must do so from the right hand lane of Rt. 10, using the jug-handle marked: Rt. 202 South – Morristown/Morris Plains. Go 1.3 miles and you will be entering Morris Plains. You will see the railroad overpass above you. Go under it and stay to the left (following Rt. 202). Go ½ mile to traffic light (Hanover Avenue is the cross street). Turn right onto Hanover Avenue and the entrance to the Church parking lot is on your left.

From Pennsylvania:
Take Interstate 80 East to Route 202 South towards Morris Plains. Continue south on Route 202 crossing Route 10. Morris Plains is about 1.3 miles from Route 10. As you come into Morris Plains, you will see the Railroad overpass above you. Go under it and stay to the left (Following Rt. 202). Go ½ mile to traffic light (Hanover Avenue is the cross street). Turn right onto Hanover Avenue and the entrance to the church parking lot is on your left.

From Route 10:
Take Route 202 South towards Morris Plains for 1.3 miles. As you come into Morris Plains, you will see the railroad overpass above you. Go under it and stay to the left (Following Rt. 202). Go ½ mile to traffic light (Hanover Avenue is the cross street). Turn right onto Hanover Avenue and the entrance to the Church parking lot is on your left.

From Randolph:
Take Sussex Turnpike to Hanover Avenue. Turn onto Hanover Avenue (You can only turn one direction). Following Hanover Avenue until you come to Saint Virgil church at the intersection of Speedwell Avenue and Hanover Avenue.

From Route 24:
Take Route 24 West to Exit 1, which is Morris County Road 511. You take the exit marked Morristown – Route 511. Stay in the right hand lane and turn right at the traffic light onto Hanover Avenue. Go for about 2 miles and you will come to the intersection of Speedwell Avenue and Hanover Avenue. The Church is on the corner. To enter the Church parking lot, go through the traffic light at Speedwell Avenue and the parking lot is on your left (after the church).

From the Morristown Green:
Take Route 202 North (Speedwell Avenue) in the direction of Morris Plains, (You will pass Headquarters Plaza Hotel and Office Buildings on your right.) (Note: as you go up Route 202 North – Stay to the right at the fork in the road which is Sussex Avenue and Speedwell Avenue.) From the Green, go 1.6 miles to intersection of Speedwell Avenue and Hanover Avenue. Turn left on to Hanover Avenue and you will see the entrance to the Church parking lot on your left.
